Profiles in Courage: The Seth Legion
United Nations Order 724-J93, ratified in the fall of 2069 authorized the formation of a Humanitarian Interdiction Force, the nucleus of which that would eventually become the Seth Legion some one hundred and eighty years later. The decree called for the creation of a semi-autonomous unit that could fill the requirements of the time for a Combat unit that could also fill the role as a Humanitarian force. It would be one of the few entities to survive the fall of the UN as a World Government, and survive to the Unification into the Terran Alliance.
The Seth Legion these days designated Extreme Hazardous Operations 1/1st Legion has served with distinction since its activation, up to its crucible in the Pirate Wars of 2231-2235, and continues to do so in these following years.
The Legion, like its seven sister units, the Phoenix, Hornet, Titan, Centaur, Typhoon and Raptor Legions, along with a Classified eighth, have served in the best interests of humanity for the entire length of the Terran Alliances existence, with the Seth Legion the point of the Special Operations Spear.
A feature unique of the Legions, a feature absent in standard Marine, or Planetary Guard Units, is both that they possess five companies, instead of the standard four. These five companies can (and usually are) broken down into two 10-platoon Cohorts, commanded by the CO and XO respectively, and operate independently of each other, this feature is due to Legions having a tendency to operate solely, often without any form of military support.
Currently the Seth Legion is commanded by Colonel Julian Stevens, who has commanded the Legion for nearly eleven years, his executive officer is Major Travis Winters, who took the position during the Pirate Wars.

Interesting Legion Facts:
· Due to Alliance Military Doctrine, no Legion may be commanded by any officer under the rank of Lt Colonel.
· Each Legion operates out of an individually outfitted Atlas Class Heavy Tonnage Assault Transport, each named for a city originally conquered by the Ancient Roman Empire
· Compared to their mainstream contemporaries, each Legion uses weaponry and equipment created solely by the Tsiskis Legion Manufacturing Facility of Galondor, Tsiskis is also the only Corporation that does not have to bid for tender, and it sells only to the Legion.
