Banning the water bottle is a fad that the uninformed are buying into. As you mentioned, more than water is sold in plastic bottles...how about them soft drinks, teas, power drinks, dishwashing soap, hand sanitizer, and the list could go on and on. What we really need to do is start requiring manufacturers and producers to start taking responsibility for their products and designing them 'Cradle to Cradle." Producer product responsibility requires the producer to take responsibility for the manufacture, use, reuse, recycling and reclaiming of the resources used to make any product. Banning isn't the answer, it might be a short term fix but are we going to ban all plastic? If we do, hopefully the banner won't need to go to the hospital. There are alternatives...recycling is an important step and plastic can be made to be biodegradable.
